Why preserve your memories?
Our first response to this question is…If the event was important enough
to take a photo of it, it's important enough to preserve that memory
in an album that you can always treasure. Secondly, if you get those
photos out of your shoeboxes, drawers, developing envelo`pes, you will
be able to enjoy them whenever you wish. Thirdly, this is one of the
best ways to include your memories in writing as well as photos. You
might not always remember the exact date your first baby walked, but
you will be able to look in your album and remember the exact date,
as well as see the first step all over again! back

What is a scrapbook?
A scrapbook is an album that we put together for you. It can come
in a number of ways…a three-ring binder, a strap-hinge album,
or a post-bound album. We can even make a scrapbook the size of
a key chain so you can take it with you. The possibilities are
endless! The reasons "scrapbooks" are so unique is that you can
include all your memorabilia such as ticket stubs or brochures,
your memories written down, and your photographs all in one place.
There are all kinds of different sizes you can choose from depending
on how many photos, etc. you want to include. You can't do that
in the typical photo album with sleeves. All you do is slide your
photo in without being able to journal, or include any other piece
you would like to remember. We can even include swatches of fabric
from bridesmaid dresses, wallpaper from your nursery, etc. In
order for your album to last for generations, we use all acid-free
and archival products for your album. If you have questionable
memorabilia, we do not allow them to touch any photos because
they might damage them. Some quick scrapbooking terms are: Acid-free:
Acid is used to pull apart the wood fibers when manufacturing
paper. If acid remains in the finished paper product, your pictures
will begin to disintegrate. All materials used in an album should
be "acid-free" which means they have a pH factor of 7 to 8.5 Lignin:
Lignin is what holds wood fibers together in a tree. It is also
found in some papers, mostly newspaper. Newspaper turns yellow
due to high lignin content. The products that we use have been
labeled "acid-free", "Lignin-free" and "archival quality" by their
manufacturers. They have been tested to ensure that their products
are safe for scrapbooks. Their products should not fade, discolor,
nor should they alter or harm your photos in any way. Every item
we use to assemble your album from adhesives, pens, paper and
embellishments are safe for your photos. back

Do
you have a contract to protect me?
Yes we do. We have a contract as well as an idea sheet for how
to organize your photos, estimate form, album and option form,
and final invoice. Please see the contract
page to see all of this information. We do not start working
on your album for three (3) days after you signing the contract
just to make sure you want to have your album made. We want to
make sure you are completely happy with your decision. Unfortunately,
we cannot offer any kind of money-back guarantee on our custom
album services. Everything is custom designed and handmade which
is why we have such frequent updates. back

What
if I don't like it?
We strive very hard to make you happy with your album. If this is the
first time you've ever thought about getting a custom album, send us
your photos to make a sample layout page for you. If you're not happy
with the results, you are under no obligation to us. If you choose to
have us continue creating your album, simply send us the remainder of
your photos. We will give you regular updates so that you can tell us
if there is something you would like to change. Also, we recommend that
you keep your doubles and negatives so we can redo a page for you if
you're not satisfied with it. We will even pay for you to get your duplicates
printed from negatives. Because this is a custom album and everything
is handmade, we cannot offer any kind of money-back guarantee, which
is why we have such frequent updates.
We want to make sure you are completely happy with the results.back

Do
I need to organize my photos? How do I do that?
You do not NEED to organize your photos, but we prefer that you do.
There is an extra hourly fee if we need to organize your photos for
you. Besides, who knows your photos and family better! We offer an organizational
sheet which is included in your "Begin Your Walk" kit that will help
you organize your photos.back to top
How
does payment work?
We ask that you pay for your album and 30% of the estimated total
upon signing your contract. That helps us purchase things like
extra pages, cardstock, adhesives, etc. that we need to begin
your project. Then, after we are halfway done with your project,
another 30% of the estimate is due. Final payment is due upon
receiving your final invoice which details exactly what was used
in your album. Once we receive final payment, you will receive
your finished album. You can choose to pay us by the 2 page layout,
or by the hour. It's your choice, and whatever will fit within
your needs and budget. back

Do
you journal or must I?
Again, you do not NEED to journal, but it will definitely add your personality
and your memories to your album. We recommend that you use one of our
pens and journal things yourself. A lot of people don't like their own
handwriting however, so we offer a few options. You can have your handwriting
turned into a computer font. Then you just need to type out your journaling,
and let us adhere it to your pages. We can journal for you for a fee,
but we believe it is much more personable and will be much more valuable
to your family to have your thoughts in your handwriting. We offer creative
lettering classes that will help you with your handwriting if you really
feel uncomfortable about doing things on your own. back

Can
I do this myself?
Yes, you can! If you really would like to create your own album,
and just don't want to spend the money having us do it for you,
we offer many classes from beginners to advanced technique classes
that will help you on your way! Once you know what you are doing,
you can attend any of our workshops to keep you on track, and
we'll be there to help you with ideas, or any techniques you have
questions about! If you have started an album, and just don't
have the time to finish it, we can pick up where you left off!
We can also scrap beside you if you really feel insecure. Just
ask about our one-on-one scrapping times, and we'll help you out!

How
long does this take?
During the initial consultation, we can give you an estimate on the
length of time it will take to finish your album. Depending on the
size of the album, and the detail involved, we should be able to finish
your album within six weeks. This is estimated a 20 page 12 x 12 album
that is not a mixture of "Basics" and "Beyond Basics" pages. The smaller
gift albums will generally take less time, and a larger more detailed
and embellished album might take longer. If you have a deadline to
meet, we try our best to meet your deadline, but we do recommend you
allow plenty of time for your album to be completed with care.
